The Birdie Chandelier is a member of the iconic Birds family. And is one of many pieces from Ingo Maurer that pays homage to and shows his love of the Edison light bulb. Each light bulb is adorned with goose-feather wings and attached to wires that have been hand-shaped by veteran employees that have mastered the difficult task. The final form of the Birdie is determined by you, as the arms can be further shaped, making each piece an original.
Chandelier with 12 low-voltage lamps and goose-feather wings. Canopy includes built-in transformer, tin-plated metal parts. Cables offered in red or transparent. Birdie is supplied with a full set of 24V low-voltage lamps and also includes 2 spare lamps. Suited for ceiling heights of 90 to 102 inches; suspension kits for higher ceilings available (sold separately). The light bulbs are custom made for Ingo Maurer, in order to extend the life span of these lamps, it is recommended to use a compatible dimmer. Includes canopy plate for covering US junction boxes. Not suitable for use in rooms with high humidity.
